I've never owned an ecommerce brand. Wait, whaaattt!? I know. But before you high-tail it outta here, let me tell you why this makes me the most qualified to help your ecommerce store succeed.
As a multi-passionate person who loves being around multi-passionate people, I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to be while I was growing up.
What I was sure of was…I never wanted to work for someone else. My path to business ownership started when I became a Yoga instructor in 2007. After a few years, I started a yoga clothing brand (shout out to Bhakti Bodywear). It still lives on Instagram, after all this time.
Now, let me preface this by saying, I started this brand way before Shopify is what it is today. Yes, I used social media to market my clothes, sourced print and clothing manufacturers to produce my items, went to markets, set up my booth at yoga studios, dove deep into my passion for building a business from the ground up, while gaining a ton of sales and marketing experience, but then, something unexpected happened...
I decided to go back to school for business.
While in business school (as a marketing major), I discovered that marketing communication was a thing, like an actual science, and I was really good at it. There was also a huge gap in the market to fill this need for brands looking to spread the word and make an impact. Especially in the online space.
So, I took an internship at a marketing agency and started down the path of helping other businesses with their marketing and sales needs. And I loved it. Soon after college, I started my own marketing company, and I've been doing it ever since. And if you’re wondering about the yoga clothes, I ditched the idea and went this direction instead. Besides, there’s no shortage in the market for stretchy pants.
Over the last 10 years I’ve built and grown 100’s of ecommerce stores all over the world.
From small shops making $5000/mo to enterprise Shopify stores making $100k/mo, I’ve worked with many different brands, products, and entrepreneurs. And it keeps getting better. The best part is, I get to remain multi-passionate, helping multiple brands and online stores with their unique and specific business goals, and it’s literally the best job ever.
My favorite color is green - making a painting or picture without it just doesn’t feel right!
I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with true crime and always thought if marketing didn’t pan out, I could just go get a job with the FBI…NBD.
The first place I ever moved when I left home was Maui - it deeply shaped my worldview, my core beliefs, and how I live my life - even to this day.
I prefer intellectual conversations - but can still make small talk
